The mission of the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights is to promote the best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children with due regard to the child's expressed wishes, according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and state and federal law. The Young Center champions the rights and best interests of immigrant children and youth, making sure that wherever they land their voices are heard, they are safe, free from detention and with family in community.

Since the inception of the 'zero tolerance' policy earlier this year, many families have been separated at the US-Mexico border, with children being taken away from their parents and put into areas and situations they are unfamiliar with. This Fund is comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits providing support to those who are seeking asylum and safety. We have initially selected organizations that work to support and reunite the families who have been put in this incredibly difficult situation. The composition of nonprofits in this fund is subject to change as we learn more about the needs on the ground.
